ESI, A Xerox Company is proud to be a wholly owned subsidiary of Xerox and are currently offering an opportunity for a Delivery Driver team member to join our team at our warehouse in Ashland, VA

General Function

This position is responsible for the delivery of items by preparing, loading, unloading, operating, maintaining records and operating a clean truck. Assisting the Inventory Logistics team as needed. This position requires indirect supervision.

Education

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED

  • Preferred: 2 Year college degree or better

Experience

  • Required: At least 2 years operating an automobile

  • Preferred: 2 years operating an automobile in a service industry

Job Functions

  • Prepares truck for operation by inspecting general condition; checking fluid levels and tire pressure; obtaining or scheduling required repairs; validating adherence to road ability standards.

  • Loads truck by checking orders, placing, and securing items.

  • Delivers items by identifying destinations; establishing route; operating the truck; unloading items; maintaining schedule.

  • Labels and routes product to the appropriate location (stock, field reps, techs, customers, or other ESI locations)

  • Serves customers by understanding and resolving or forwarding complaints; adjusting orders.

  • Obtains payment by accepting cash, checks, and credit card payments.

  • Maintains truck operating efficiency by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; scheduling repairs.

  • Maintains safe operation and clean appearance by complying with organization operational policies, procedures, and standards, as well as state and local driving rules and regulations; cleans truck exterior and interior.

  • Maintains delivery, truck, and driving records by obtaining receipt acknowledgments; recording tracking information; completing driver log and truck performance forms.

  • Assists Inventory Logistics Team in areas needed (restocking tech sites, receiving items into accounting system, shipping via UPS, Fed-ex, DHL, filing, data entry, etc)

  • Respects the confidentiality of the customer, company and other personnel

  • Keeps supervisor, manager or team leaders informed of problems, potential and actual, that can affect the completion of assigned duties and tasks within a reasonable period of time.

Physical, This Position Requires the Following:

  • The ability to sit for prolonged periods of time

  • The ability to stand for prolonged periods of time

  • The ability and dexterity to operate computers, calculators, copiers, fax machines, telephones and intercoms.

  • May require the use of ladders or platforms to reach elevated areas

  • The ability to negotiate around office areas, warehouse areas, and stocking shelves

  • The full use of vision in order to navigate and inspect computer screens, computer reports, purchase orders, contracts, invoices, work orders; to read and prepare reports and any applicable correspondence required for the performance of the company’s purpose of business

  • The ability to lift products up to 50 lbs.

  • The judgment of the individual to request help when lifting more than 50 lbs.

  • The use of various tools such as razor blades, tape guns, hand trucks etc. to perform duties

  • The ability to read, speak, and write English fluently in order to read and generate reports, to read contracts and instructions, to read and interpret computer screen information, to read and explain pricing, and to read correspondence related to the company’s purpose of business. It also requires the ability to communicate effectively with clients, customers, employees, management and vendors engaged in the company’s business

Working Conditions

This position involves both an office based environment and a warehouse type environment. Occasionally the requirement to perform duties in other areas or other buildings, or to travel to other company locations to assist in job related duties.
