Xerox is actively seeking Senior Software Engineers for a tremendous opportunity to join one of the fastest-growing green field business units within Xerox at a very early stage and will have significant influence over the architecture and direction of the software development functions of the business unit. Xerox is looking for a senior-level application engineering to define and develop highly complex and emerging technologies in support of a unique 3D printing platforms. This role will be integral in selecting, developing and proving the architecture, as well as managing both internal and external development resources. As the development progresses, will have opportunities to grow and hire a team, based in Cary, NC Center of Excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define the appropriate resources and architecture needed to build a 3D printing software application (file I/O, data repository, 3D model manipulation, optimization, simulation, etc)

  • Manage prioritization, trade-offs and set appropriate expectations for delivery

  • Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team’s ability to meet strategic and technical goals

  • Oversee daily activities of both internal resources and external partners, providing direction and guidance as needed

  • Influence design and implementation approaches through best practices

  • Select and implement best practices and processes for development tools, source control, build automation, automated unit test, code review, automated deployment and automated (regression) testing


  • Minimum 7 years of experience in software development

  • Proven experience setting measurable goals and metrics to drive success for teams

  • Demonstrated ability to hire, nurture developers and coach high performing teams

  • Exceptional technical background in Software Engineering, preferably building desktop and cloud software at scale

  • Extensive experience in embedded C++ projects and design experience for large projects that include a mix of languages including Java, C++, Python and CAD

  • Experience with Agile, Jira, Git and database development strongly preferred

  • Proficiency with 3D graphics and user experiences preferred but not required (OpenGL, Qt3D, WPF or similar 3D graphics API)

  • C++ product development

  • 3D print software experience is highly preferable

  • Experience with automated CI-Loop with Unit and Functional testing is a plus.

  • Azure Dev-Ops is a plus.

  • APIs and Web Services is a plus

  • Visual Studio 2019 is a plus

  • BS (or higher, e.g., MS, or PhD) in Computer Science or equivalent
