The Service Transition Manager is a leadership position in the IT Global Operations Engineering Services and Support (ESS) team responsible for the procurement, design, deployment and support of secure private and public (IaaS, PaaS) hosting platforms, service management and operational processes and controls for new and improved services offered to Xerox customers. Candidate will be the manager of the IT Service Transition team responsible for building, updating and deploying new or modified hosting platforms including compute, storage, database and network; security, compliance and data privacy controls; and operational processes. Service Transition team of 10 includes solution and data architects, project managers and infrastructure engineers. Technologies used include but are not limited to Azure IaaS/PaaS resources, MS Windows Server, MS SQL Server, Active Directory, VMware (vCenter, vRealize, Horizon View), DNS, DHCP, SCCM, WSUS, Cylance, Visual Studio TFS, Avamar. Data Domains, Storage Arrays and MDS/FC Switches. Searching for a seasoned IT leader with a strong technical background and knowledge of ITIL framework and Service Transition and Design.

Scope:

  • Develops departmental plans, including business, production and/or organizational priorities

  • Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends solutions/best practices

  • Decisions are guided by resource availability and functional objectives

  • Primarily domestic accountability; may include some international accountability

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Directs the activities of infrastructure assessment, selection, installation, configuration and deployment

  • Manages the development, installation, and maintenance of hosting platforms and security solutions for business applications

  • Directs and coordinates activities related to the design, development and implementation of software operating systems

  • Plans, conducts, and coordinates compute, storage, network, OS system and database activities

  • Establishes standards and documentation requirements

  • Reviews current status of systems, processes and controls and prepares recommendations for improvements

  • Provide guidance on initiatives to achieve and maintain certifications supporting strategic business objectives

  • Assist with budget planning and management

  • Provide oversight over various processes within Service Transition ITIL framework

Candidate Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience with at least 5 managing small team of engineers and solution architects

  • University degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related subject

  • ITIL v3 Certification

  • Detailed understanding of IaaS and PaaS Cloud concepts and providers

  • Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle processes including: DevOps, Agile and traditional delivery models, coding, and

  • code promotion

  • Experience with industry security standards like ISO27001 and Sarbanes Oxley

  • Experience implementing Information Security policies

  • Experience of cross-functional working and the ability to demonstrate a collaborative approach with regards to building

  • key relationships across the business and external partners

  • Understanding of operation environments including across the service management lifecycle (strategy, design, transition

  • and continuous service improvement)

  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong leader with professional interpersonal style

  • Experience in project management or service delivery roles in business and/or technology

  • Understands, explains and presents complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Shows a systematic, analytical approach to problem solving.

  • Proven ability to work under pressure handling multiple tasks to ensure timely completion of all activities

  • Aptitude for influencing others without direct authority

  • Ability to prioritize, and work well under pressure

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, both in technical and non-technical arenas

  • Adept at learning and applying new technologies and solving new problems

Education:

  • Relevant certifications (Windows Server, Azure, CCP, etc.)

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Master’s degree preferred
