  • Provides planning, development, and execution of the Information Technology systems strategy for the business across various software and hardware platforms.

  • They include RH Linux, Microsoft, Citrix, Server and storage. Bothe on prem and public cloud infrastructure and other packaged software solutions.

  • Various industry specific applications are deployed in the environment that require management.

  • Keeps computer equipment, hardware, software, and desktop environments updated and in compliance to meet organizational needs.

  • Directs local standards for internet, telephony, video, mobile, and software solutions that align with corporate standards or guidelines.

  • Builds and maintains IT support structure that is required to ensure uninterrupted IT services (DR/BC capabilities)

  • Oversees and evaluates system security and back up procedures. Responsible for system security including internet, disaster recovery, back-up/recovery. Implements and maintains effective backup systems to ensure the integrity of all business-critical data and functionality.

  • Supports multiple Zeno locations across Florida. Coordinates activities with field offices’ staffs to ensure plans are aligned.

  • Responsible for determining project schedules and budgets and effectively managing the allocation of resources to achieve such timelines and budgets.

  • Identify, analyze, resolve, and support system-level on-premise and cloud user issues.

  • Evaluate and recommend products and services that best fit researchers/engineers/developers’ needs.

  • Gather requirements, create, maintain and support IT infrastructure architecture, automate and document architecture and processes.

Must have skills and experience:

  • Solution architecture experience (putting together solutions and associated business cases is +)

  • AWS, Azure and GovCloud:

  • Architect, manage and maintain on-prem and Cloud-based environment for research and business projects and infrastructure

  • System Administration experience: Servers, desktops, laptops, VM and cloud support. (depth in one stack major+)

  • Storage: Breadth and experience to managing on-prem (NetApp, Dell, Hitachi SAN & NAS) and cloud (AWS & Azure) enterprise storage. (depth in one storage array/area is a major+)

  • Exposure and experience with tools and technologies in Infrastructure management: Backup & Restore, Monitoring Infra/App, ITSM – Service management and CMDB and inventory/asset management systems

  • VMware: Manage and maintain infrastructure, perform upgrades, patches, P2V/consolidation, monitoring and capacity management.

  • Exposure to networking fundamentals, DNS, IAM, SIEM, Antivirus and other security products (Do not need to be subject matter experts; requires exposure and knowledge)

  • On-prem Data Center support (Rack&Stack, connectivity, server maintenance/inventory, legacy hardware, monitoring, DCIM, IPMI).

  • Leading small team of system engineers

  • Knowledge of SOX, PCI and Information Security compliance obligations.

Nice to have skills and experience:

  • System Administration experience: Servers (Linux/Solaris/Windows), NIS, NFS, DNS

  • GCP – Google Cloud Platform and Oracle Cloud – OCI

  • Kubernetes / Container orchestration Apache Mesos and like

  • Infrastructure as code - Terraform

  • AI workloads, GPU computing and HPC of various flavors.

  • Automation: Ansible, Chef, Puppet

  • Python scripting is a big+ Cloud-based HPC (e.g. Rescale): Support R&D researcher requirements for AI GPU/machine learning and simulation.

  • Rubrik backup: Primary owner with all operational responsibility.

  • Exposure to SRE and DevOps

  • Cloud Security (a big+)

  • Exposure and experience with ISO 27001, SOCII (infrastructure/app), DFARS and other audit and compliance experience is a + License Server support: FlexNet/FlexLm and other. Maintain on-prem and remote license server setup for cloud HPC.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10 – 15 years of IT experience with increasing leadership responsibilities for management and support of information systems and information technology.

  • A senior engineer/architect with good technical background and the ability to build collaborative relationships across the company.

  • A BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

  • Technical skills: Demonstrated knowledge & exposure in three or four of the listed areas:

  • Operating systems including Windows and Linux,

  • Server and Storage technologies

  • Cloud technologies and security

  • Cloud Orchestration tools and technologies

  • VoIP, of WAN/LAN technology & network security,

  • Information security, e-mail (Exchange)

  • Databases (SQL), storage area networks

  • Business management software running on various platforms.

  • AWS and Azure: Proven mastery of at least one, knowledge of both

  • Linux (RedHat, Centos, Ubuntu) - imaging of physical and virtual, driver support, troubleshooting

  • Experience supporting enterprise storage (Preference for Netapp, SAN, NAS …)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct management of a major IT operation is preferred.

  • Experience in distribution and/or service industry preferred.

  • Past or present MCSE, CCIE, PMI, CISM, CISSP or related certifications.
