This position will play a primary role in planning, implementing, leading and executing all aspects of Quality and Testing. The role requires hands-on QA expertise, ability to take initiative and develop and evolve our QA processes. The right candidate will be able to analyze the systems to determine what to test, the priority of those tests and the best way to test.
In close collaboration with a strategic vendor, establishand evolve a formal QA/Testing practice, establishing test processes,methodology, standards, and hygiene for both agile and waterfall developmentefforts.
Lead development of the QA strategy, test design /plan, testautomation, and drive test execution for, a key strategic service deliverytransformation initiative.
Overseeing all aspects of quality assurance includingestablishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing newtools and processes to ensure quality goals are met.
Act as key point of contact for apps teams and projectteams for all QA aspects of releases, providing QA services and coordinating QAresources internally and externally.
Build out a diverse team with both onshore QA analystsand offshore testing execution.
Lead and mentor QA team members, as well as manageoutside contract testers both onshore and offshore.
Diagnose defects and track them from discovery toresolution.
Partner with application delivery teams to stay informedof new technologies being introduced and to define environment requirements andensure that system components are designed for testability.
Develop the strategy and enablement of User AcceptanceTesting, partnering effectively with the business to ensure goal achievement.
Respond to all requests from team members in a timelyprofessional manner.
Skills and Experience:
5 years’ experience in the software quality fieldincluding prior hands-on quality engineering experience
Demonstrated experience developing and executing testcases, scripts, plans and procedures to support various developmentmethodologies.
Familiarity with entire software development life cycleand test cycles (Unit, Regression, Functional, Systems, Performance and Volume,User Acceptance)
Understanding of multi-tier web application architectureand deployment
Understanding of existing QA best practices andmethodologies to design, implement and automate processes
Experience coordinating with external QA resources
Prior success using a metrics-driven approach andclosed-loop feedback to improve software deliverables and improvepredictability and reliability of releases
Detailed and effective written communication skills fordocumenting the features tested and bugs found
Highly organized, detail oriented, extremely responsiveand able to prioritize a large number of tasks
Self-motivated, works well independently and with others
