Responsible for developing and implementing standardized testing processes and solutions for end-to-end testing of strategic and transformational projects within Xerox XDX, in support of our Testing Center of Excellence (TCoE).
Develops and maintains a test governance model in keeping with our SDLC practices for Waterfall and Agile projects, based on industry best practices.
Manages the workload and assignments of the test team for the project and serves as a testing SME and mentor for junior members.
Collaborates with the technical test managers within TCoE and Development and EPMO partners for all automation efforts for the project, in line with our “automation first” strategy. Evaluates and monitors test process maturity on projects.
Under XDX-QA leadership, this role plays a key role in defining an overall test process and governance strategy, implementing the right tools and competencies to bring in end-to-end test management services across our project portfolio, in support of our digital transformation efforts.
Works with management and cross-functional teams to design and implement an overall test process governance strategy that brings testing efficiencies, reduces cycle times, and lowers costs.
Standardizes test processes and tools towards a common test management platform to better align with our digital and cloud strategy, as well as our legacy applications.
This is a senior hands-on management role within QA, responsible for designing and implementing test processes and governance, as well as leading a team of testing personnel across our project portfolio.
This role will have supervisory / people management responsibilities.
Leads the development, standardization, and delivery of testing processes, tools, and best practices across multiple projects and development towers, in support of Xerox’s Testing Center of Excellence (TCoE) and digital transformation efforts.
Responsible for all project testing activities, from resource estimations to test planning, execution, defect management, reporting, and UAT support in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
Creates the overall Test Plan for the project and leads test planning activities and deliverables.
Evaluates and monitors process adherence, tool adoption and usage, and champions automation activities as an integral part of the testing lifecycle.
Defines and ensures all types of testing needed for the project are scoped, resourced, managed, and completed on time with superior quality, in accordance with the TCoE standards and practices.
Runs the defect triage meetings, reports on defect metrics, and leads test readiness reviews.
Provides UAT support to our Business partners ensuring TCoE standards are maintained.
Creates the final Test Summary Report at the conclusion of all testing and signs-off on the release, prior to production deployment, in collaboration with our development and business partners.
Defines and tracks test metrics and conducts root cause analysis for continuous improvement.
Participates in automation assessment, scope definition, resource alignment, and development activities in support of automation initiatives throughout the life of the project or product.
Coaches and mentors junior test analysts on testing skills and best practices.Advocates and takes ownership of quality at the project level.
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or a technical field is required.
Associate Degree, in a technical field, with 8+ years of work experience can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
ISTQB-Certified Test Manager or Certified Tester
ASQ-CMQ/OE (or) CQIA (or) CSTE
CSM or SAFe-Agile or PMP or Six Sigma or any Process Management training or certification is strongly preferred.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities (Minimum):
5-8 years of hands-on testing experience, both in waterfall and agile methodologies, with 2 years in a test management or process architect role.
5-6 years of hands-on experience testing applications of increasing complexity, preferably on Oracle, SAP, Siebel platforms with a MF back-end.
5+ years of solid experience with one or more tools like Microfocus Quality Center or ALM, Rational Test Manager, Zephyr, QMetry, TestRail, JIRA, VSTS or AzureDevOps, etc.
Expert level knowledge of test process definition and governance, including metrics and reporting.
3 years of strong API testing experience for both SOAP and REST services, using tools like Soap-UI Pro / ReadyAPI, Postman, WebTest, Rest-Assured – good working knowledge of XML and JSON.
Good working knowledge of Cloud-based technologies and DevOps CI/CD practices using one or more tools like Azure DevOps, Team City, Subversion, AWS etc.
Strong SQL skills for back-end database testing.
Strong vendor management experience, especially managing onsite and offshore vendor resources.
Good working knowledge of test data management practices and designing and maintaining test data for all types of testing.
Strong knowledge of Waterfall and Agile testing processes and methodologies.
Strong metrics analysis and reporting skills, including dashboard creation and maintenance.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities (Preferred):
Experience with automation development and/or programming.
Experience with ETL tools like QuerySurge, DataGap, Informatica etc.
Experience with tool administration and upgrades. Experience testing MF or legacy applications.
Additional Role Requirements:
Must be a champion and advocate of quality processes and practices.
Must have hands-on prior experience managing end-to-end testing on large, strategic projects.
Must have strong testing experience and be willing to mentor and develop a high-performing test team to meet project needs.
Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must have a “can do” attitude to drive change as part of the TCoE, at the project level.
Must be collaborative and a team player. Must take ownership and accountability.
