Position Objectives :

  • Ensure worldwide product safety regulatory requirements are understood, communicated, and comprehended in Xerox products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain familiarity with agency standards applicable to Xerox products (UL, CSA, IEC/EN, ISO, FCC, VCCI, CE, RoHS, WEEE, REACH, TSCA, ErP, CISPRxx, etc.).

  • Maintain updated product safety requirements document including Americas and EMEA regulatory marks (NRTL, CB, BIS, NOM, GS, Ukraine, UAE, etc.). Provide expertise on documentation and product labeling that must accompany and/or be located on product.

  • Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging compliance engineering practices and standards; participate in educational opportunities and professional organizations; read professional publications.

  • Keep departments up to date on new or revised regulatory requirements that are relevant to Xerox products.

  • Maintain list of latest European norms for Declaration of Conformity documents (e.g. substance compliance, low voltage directives, and other regulatory requirements).

  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies to certify new and revised products to applicable standards.

  • Coordinate testing procedures and submit product test data, samples, and descriptive reports required for regulatory and agency certifications.

  • Coordinate and support third party safety agency audits and follow up inspections of Xerox manufacturing.

  • Evaluate products against internal Xerox specifications, safety agency requirements, and environmental label certifications, and obtain safety agency approvals.

  • Review and approve product design changes for safety and environmental compliance.

  • Perform field incident investigation and develop corrective actions.

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum BS degree in electrical or mechanical engineering

  • 5+ years of experience in electro/mechanical product design and/or manufacturing

  • 5+ years of experience in global regulatory tracking

  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude / ability to thoroughly understand the requirements of all applicable safety and product-related standards, domestic and foreign.

  • Knowledge of world-wide regulatory worldwide requirements – (UL, CSA, IEC/EN, FCC, VCCI, CE, RoHS, WEEE, REACH, TSCA, ErP, CISPRxx, BIS, NOM, GS, Ukraine, UAE, etc.)

  • Working experience with product safety standards IEC 60950-1 and IEC 62368-1.

  • Proven ability to utilize best practices and sound judgment to address identified compliance risk

  • Proven effective project management, organizational agility, analytical and creative thinking

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including communicating with product teams and senior leaders

  • EMC compliance standards like CISPRxx, FCC, IC.
