As part of the Communication Services (CS) team, the role holder will primarily be involved in developing, creating and supporting the GTS delivery platform, including front end Web developments and backend database, API and 3 rd party tool integrations, but holding a strong competence in Oracle Application Frameworks.

Developing the support platform and infrastructure to a commensurate standard expected of an experienced developer for the successful delivery of the CS communication service

Supporting the successful and continued operation of the platform, both during and out of normal office hours (9-5pm).

Engage and advise customers directly where counselled by management or team lead


The role will encompass all development activities required to support the immediate or wider reaching CS service. The role holder will hold a specialisation in Oracle Applications Framework, though their activity will not be restricted to this technology.

It is possible that the domestic and European travel will be required, as well as occasional blended hours of support to work with European and North American based colleagues/clients

Primary Responsibilities:

Program script based back-end architecture to support workflow infrastructure and reporting

Provide guidance to the development team and general education to colleagues on OAF technology

Be prepared to learn the required languages to support the full delivery suite and all communication languages used to support the serviced customer base.

Develop and support platform integrations with supplier technologies

Document architecture and developments suitable for technical staff

Apply strict corporate design standards and version control to all publications

Thoroughly test applications against agreed system specifications and test plans.

Interact with client representatives at many levels to review and sign-off of working applications

Meet aggressive targets for project delivery

Act as a customer SME interface

Provide technical innovation ideas, and demonstrate ownership where opportunities or problems present themselves

Development Skills, Java, Shell Scripting.


Structured analysis, design and development methods


Knowledge of Change and Release processes


Oracle Discoverer/DBA knowledge




Middleware applications using Apache Camel / Karaf / Maven)


Knowledge of web framework technologies, including standard integration language exposure (like python, Java etc)
