In Brief:

The student will join the Xerox Digital eXperience (XDX) Production Operations Team, which supports all SAP implementations across Europe and the Eastern Hemisphere. The student will be supporting internal and external employees, Xerox customers and business partners. In particular, they will become part of the Service Delivery Team, which supports the on-going operation of these applications.

What will I be doing?

  • W orking in an SAP support environment based on ITIL service management best practice

  • Verification and enrichment of Operational Reporting. Completing daily, weekly, and monthly reporting measuring the service being provided to the European Business. Being the back up for daily reporting and assisting in extracts if there are errors.

  • Managing the Incident escalation process.

  • Tracking and reporting of both SAP and Non-SAP incidents and problems

  • Facilitation of Daily Ops meetings, capturing and tracking actions

  • Collation of information from the XDX teams and production of various ad hoc report

  • SharePoint and DocuShare website development and maintenance, actively updating and maintaining information to ensure the validity of the data and the opportunity to improve the websites, where deemed necessary.

  • Administrative access level for SharePoint and DocuShare.

  • Process facilitator for the New Starters and Leavers process, internal and external.

  • Administrating the XDX Production Operations Document Repository

  • Process owner for SAP Solution Manager ticketing tool.

  • Co-ordinating access and resource provisions with 3rd parties both onshore and offshore.

  • Cover for the SAP Change Management Analyst IP student

  • Continuous Service Improvement activities

What skills do you need?

The programme is designed for undergraduate students studying for a degree or degree equivalent required to complete a placement year as part of their study. Placements usually commence between June and July of each year and students must be available to work for 12 months.

You will need to meet the following criteria:

  • On track to receive a 2:1

  • Be a 2nd year students looking to do a 12 month placement as part of your 3rd year

  • Have a minimum of 12 weeks work experience

  • Have 5 GCSEs Grade A-C

  • Have 240 UCAS points minimum

  • Good organisational skills with some knowledge and awareness of project planning and systems development lifecycle principles. Able to plan and prioritise workload, meeting deadlines successfully.

  • Good interpersonal skills – able to work effectively in a team environment but equally able to work pro-actively and on own initiative as required.

  • Confidence in yourself and your work is essential.

  • Good communication skills, effectively conveys information verbally and in writing.

  • Computer literacy specifically with good MS Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel. A knowledge of pivot tables would be an advantage.

  • Ability to assess the situation and identify key issues. Be flexible and able to adapt to the current issue.

  • An ability to build rapport with a diverse workforce in multicultural settings.

  • Multitasking and time management skills are essential for this role.
