The Intelligent Systems Laboratory at PARC has a summer research opening in the area of privacy-aware protocols. The intern will apply technologies for privacy-aware computation, including secure multiparty computation and homomorphic encryption to exciting new applications in design and manufacturing.
The ideal intern is a Ph.D student in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, with published research experience in secure computation. Particular skills that we are looking for include:
Applied Cryptography: Familiarity with protocols using Homomorphic Encryption (Partial, FHE, SHE), Secure Multi-parity Computation. Hands-on experience implementing and evaluating SMC or applied crypto protocols
Hands-on skill in one or more implementation languages: Python, Java, C/C++, and Go.
Familiarity with Message Brokers (e.g., ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka) and their use in distributed systems
Platforms: MacOS, Ubuntu
Scripting: zsh, bash
