Job Role Summary:

Responsible for providing guidance regarding security practices and procedures for a Fortune 500 global corporation. Ensures physical security for employees, company data, company assets, and communication systems. Either leads or supports all company investigations. Ensures all procedures comply with statutory requirements.

Purpose:

Purpose of position is to develop and administer a comprehensive global security function that provides for a safe and secure environment for Corporate leadership, employee base, company assets and shareholder interests. Position also acts as a collaborative business partner with Corporate and Divisional leadership at the strategic and tactical levels. Actions of position and Security Department directly impact revenues (through loss prevention measures, recovery of assets due to theft, and restitution) and mitigate risks to profits, revenue and customer relationships (through risk assessment and management, compliance and governance). Position is corporation’s subject matter expert for all Corporate Security related matters.

Scope:

  • Position has worldwide responsibility for Corporate Securityfunctions inclusive of, policy development, operational management, physicalsecurity, investigations, training, executive protection, employee safety,business continuity and crisis management. Position has 6 direct reports, atotal of 25 employees within the organization and additional contract Securitypersonnel.

  • The position interfaces with all levels of Corporate andDivisional leadership. Position also frequently collaborates with the BusinessEthics Office, Legal, Compliance, Government Affairs, Audit and HumanResources. Position requires highest degree of confidentiality and discretion.Partners with business unit entities on a variety of complex matters relatedcustomer engagement (i.e. contract reviews) and business acquisitions todevelop strategies for operational integration.

  • Position and/or group needs to be available 24/7 to assistand counsel, senior management, employees and external authorities inresponding to critical Security incidents (i.e. workplace violence, disasterresponse/incident management)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic plan for Security program/functionthroughout all domestic/global operations inclusive of policy, standard andpractice, integration of security controls, threat/risk management, executiveprotection/travel safety, brand protection, business continuity and crisismanagement

  • Oversee simple to complex investigations into violations ofpolicy and criminal/civil law. (i.e. investigation into counterfeitingoperations which are manufacturing consumable supplies and distributing theminto domestic and international marketplace resulting in damage to brand anderoding market share)

  • Help to administer & oversee anti-bribery and corruption(ABACA) program and policies, including 3rd party due diligence & screening

  • Oversee US Defense Department security clearance program to ensure ongoing corporate compliance. Able to receive a TS clearance.

  • Oversee operational aspects of Security function inclusive of, regulatory compliance with Customs entities for safeguarding assets, guard force selection, training and deployment, supporting special events (i.e. Corporate sponsorships, customer engagement, industry trade shows). Develop strategy for integration of security technologies (i.e. centralized access control and alarm monitoring)

  • Manage Business Continuity and Crisis Management functions. Ensure Business Continuity plans are suitable for readiness and business resumption. Manage Corporations incident response for critical incidents such as workplace violence (threats, assaults, shootings) and/or natural disasters(hurricanes, wildfires, flooding)

Education Requirements:

Minimum-Bachelors – Criminal Justice, Business or related field

Preferred-MBA

Professional Certifications:

  • 15 – 20 years experience

  • Requirements for position include at minimum a Bachelorsdegree in Criminal Justice, Business or related field.

  • An MBA is highly desirable.

  • Experience should include a minimum of fifteen years inCorporate Security and/or law enforcement. Knowledge of contemporary Securityissues as they relate to global business operations.

  • Technical knowledge of physical security systems (i.e.alarms, surveillance systems)

  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills

  • Knowledge of criminal/civil law
