The Vice President, Strategy & Business Development identifies and secures new sources of growth for the Corporation including M&A, integrations, divestitures, and regulatory. They will work on all strategic programs to strengthen and advance the Corporation’s existing business portfolio. They will be a key contributor to the development and implementation of the overall Xerox business strategy.

The role demands a strong collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, such as the global offering and capability teams, regional operating units, R&D, executive leadership and external partners. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring appropriate leadership, staffing, methodology and infrastructure is engaged and deployed to support all strategic programs. They candidate’s goal is to achieve a sustainable, competitive advantage in their ability to successfully execute business and technology projects through the development and implementation of leading practices in governance, methodology, talent and capability development, and supporting tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Define the strategy for growth opportunities of the organization aligned to the company’s strategy, applying external and global perspective to meet local and global needs.

  • Gains people commitment to achieve business objectives of strategic initiatives that substantially advance the capabilities and/or performance of Xerox and its operating units through clear communication of the company’s vision and flexing leadership styles to inspire high performance.

  • In-depth knowledge of project / program / portfolio management methodologies to prioritize investment opportunities

  • Research, identify and lead all activities to support new sources of growth for the Corporation including prospective acquisitions, partnerships and organic investments

  • Authentically builds trusted relationships and contributes to a culture of innovation and collaboration across global, diverse and multi-functional teams to successfully drive strategies and pragmatic action plans under-pinned by robust strategic, competitive and financial analysis with Strategy Directors and other team members

  • Complete in-depth assessments of core and adjacent markets, including industry trends, value drivers, competitive positioning, and help develop actionable strategies for Xerox to successfully participate in these markets

  • Responsible for the management, deployment and governance of the corporation’s core processes including our annual Strategy Contract process and strategic investment prioritization

  • Develop and present senior-level strategy review materials and action plans for prioritized initiatives to the Executive Committee Members

  • Lead programs to identify and secure new M&A opportunities, including industry liaisons, banker meetings and independent research

  • Supervise analysts developing financial models for company valuation including comparable company and transaction evaluations, discounted cash flows and LBO

  • Work closely with business unit leads and COO to develop synergy cases and revenue growth opportunities

  • Oversee due diligence and assist in negotiating key transaction documentation

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in investment banking or similar industry

  • Demonstrated strong analytical, communication (written & verbal) skills, and exceptional inter-personal leadership and influence skills

  • Experience in building and implementing a governance framework within a large global enterprise

  • Ability to make an impact and execute on key strategies

  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, with demonstrated quantitative ability and knowledge of statistics

  • Experience in strategic planning, product management or corporate development function

  • Confidence to challenge the status quo

  • Advanced facilitation, influence management and consensus building skills

  • Demonstrated relationship building, people management and leadership skills with a superior ability to make things happen through use of impact and influence and by building key relationships

  • Strong track record of high achievement and growth in responsibility
