The successful candidate will be a thought leader with a proven record of leading a Global payroll team and delivering scalable,employee-enabling payroll services either in a Managed or Shared Services environment. S/he will have demonstratedexperience and content expertise in payroll strategy development and execution, including evaluation and implementation ofpayroll systems and vendor partnerships. Success in this role involves an ability to think big and execute nimbly in order totransform our employee experience with compliance, security and accurate reporting. The successful candidate will be equallycomfortable delivering on operations goals and payroll transformation. Reporting to the EVP and Chief Human ResourcesOfficer, this is a high-impact role with significant leadership accountability and key partnerships with the Xerox DigitalExperience, Finance, Legal and Tax organizations.
Develop payroll strategy and operating model in a rapidly evolvingHR Shared Services model and collaborate with HR and Finance Leads around theglobe to ensure interdependencies are working as intended and statutory andbusiness requirements are met.
Set up payroll operations in multiple locations. Lead and championchange management activities, technology or process, to get the best value forthe business
The person will set the overall strategic direction andtransformation payroll operations globally. Manage the payroll operationsglobally in an Outsourced environment. Manage the Vendor performance includingSLA’s, Risk and compliance
Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, payroll funding,and tax filing across the organization, including labor distribution records,vacation and sick leave accrual, overtime, and withholding status
Oversee the preparation and filing of required reports and/orpayments to government agencies, employees, and other organizations
Develop consistent processes across the globe and coordinateregional efforts in order to standardize our processes globally while allowingfor local flexibility when appropriate. Lead the development of policies andprocedures for the payroll process and timekeeping
This leader will transform the global payroll operations to becomemore automated and scalable while collaborating closely with HR, Tax, Treasury,Finance, HCM, XDX/IT, and business operations to ensure needed changes aresupported by Payroll
Own oversight of Global Payroll activities to ensure compliancewith all corporate and country-specific procedures and policies; ensure processdesign supports financial and regulatory compliance. Ensure audit and oversightto the function’s activities and processes, so that relevant internal andexternal compliance and government interaction standards are met
This role will be responsible for the efficient administration ofXerox’s global payroll, including leading the implementation and oversight of aglobal payroll shared services center
Coach and mentor senior members of the payroll function
Candidate Education:Master’s degree in Accounting, Business or a related field ispreferred
Professional Certifications: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation required
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience; demonstrated experience in leading payroll transformation, preferred
Large multinational company experience
A deep understanding of equity compensation and how it affects ordinary income and related tax withholdings
Ability to work independently and take initiative to complete work accurately in a time-sensitive, fast-paced environment
Comprehensive knowledge of tax and accounting policy, practices, and procedures
Experience in project management, process improvement, and strategy development
Experience in managing people and leading teams / virtual teams
Experience in Transitioning payroll vendors
Should have specific implementation experience of the payroll programs
Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the payroll environment is an added advantage
Experience in SOX and other Audit/Controls framework is critical
