Purpose:

• Develops and implements business strategies and objectives to maximize value of the corporate intellectual property assets. Activities may include: researching competitive marketplace by conducting patent searches, preparing company profiles, company briefing packages and developing licensing opportunities/plans. Responsible for intellectual property issues, such as patent, copyright or trademark matters. Provides legal advice on the patentability of inventions, infringement of patents or copyrights and the validity of trademarks. Prepares applications for patents, copyrights and trademarks.

• Requires knowledge and experience in own discipline; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills

• Moderate decision making authority guided by policies, procedures, and business operations protocol
