PARC AI is immediately hiring a Lead Full-Stack Software Engineer – for our AI Engineering team.PARC AI has the vision ofbuilding a world class AI-as-a-Service platform to enable PARC’s customers to deploy and utilize PARC’s core AI solutions in their applications without building their own AI teams and products.The set of problems that we tackle is incredibly diverse and complex.They cut across Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computer Vision (CV), Augmented Reality (AR), Conversational AI, and otherAI areas.

We’re looking for a highly-qualified Software Engineer to join the development team for our Core SaaS Platform for AI Services and SDKs. Participate in the entire development lifecycle, help to clarify/refine requirements, own the design for your components, and write and test the code to implement important new capabilities.Your tasks will include development of front- or back-end (or both) for new modules and improvements to existing ones. In addition, you will support product management in defining the short- and long-term roadmap by providing input on complexity of tasks and areas to improve.. The pace is fast and the opportunity to contribute to company success is high.

Scope:

  • Architect, design, implement and test system modules and new functionality according to requirements.

  • Champion and adhere to the Agile / SCRUM methodology.

  • Ensure Quality processes are followed throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Ensure adherence to Software Engineering best practices in development (Coding Standards, Unit Tests, Design Principles)

  • Perform design and code reviews and mentor less experienced developers.

  • Create Automated Unit Tests in a Test Driven development environment.

  • Work with on and offshore developers in a team focused environment.

  • Find and fix software defects.

  • Lead the java development of our continued integration with Salesforce.com

  • Collaborate with Product Management to help envision and design new capabilities

  • Work with component technical lead(s) to write technical specifications for new features.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • 5+ years of experience developing software while following coding and quality standards.

  • 5+ years rich Java architecture and platform building experience, especially SaaS multi-tenant architecture and micro-service architecture

  • Ability to prioritize work tasks in a fast paced dynamic environment.

  • 5+ years object-oriented software development on middle-tier and back-end components, with at least 3 years of heavy Java server-side programming.

  • Java development under Linux, Mac, and Windows.

  • At least 1 project in which you played a lead role in architecting/designing the middle-tier and database layers for a new application.

  • Familiarity with REST frameworks and Web API design in general. Specific experience with DropWizard (http://dropwizard.codahale.com/) a plus.

  • Design and implementation of SOAP-based web services.

  • Experience in configuring and deploying Amazon AWS and RDS servers.

  • Experience in configuring Apache for scalable cloud-based applications.

  • Familiarity with Jenkins and Rundeck for continues integration and deployment.

  • Expertise with git. (BitBucket a plus)

  • Strong SQL and database design skills. MySQL expertise. Database performance tuning.2+ years coding under Hibernate or with other ORMs.

  • Experience with NoSQL databases (Mongo or Cassandra or HBase) and/or Big Data technologies such as Hadoop/Spark.

  • Experienced working under Agile and Continuous Development.

  • Familiarity with Salesforce.com. Prior experience in implementing SFDC “packages” a plus.

Desired Skills:

  • Startup experience.

  • Prior experience in integrating applications. Experience using ETL packages: Kettle experience is a plus.

  • Prior experience in working with offshore developers and QA function.

  • Experience with UI development would be a plus, especially Javascript and ReactJS/JQuery/AngularJS.

  • Experience in using Spark Framework with Scala or Python or R

  • Experience or Knowledge in data modeling for NOSQL databases

  • Experience or Knowledge of Functional Programming

  • Other tools/packages we use: JIRA, FishEye, Crucible, Artifactory, Eclipse, Liquibase, JUnit, DBUnit, Cobertura, Airbrake, NewRelic, RestAssured, RightScale, PaperTrail, RunDeck

Education:

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related fields and/or equivalent work experience.
