PARC’s Intelligent Systems Lab (ISL) is searching for a research engineer with a background in building and maintaining research and prototyping AI systems involving several of information extraction, natural language processing, dialog, machine learning, knowledge representation and reasoning, and knowledge graphs. The candidate should be able to set up and deploy AI systems under loose guidance from research staff, including running machine learning experiments and creating large knowledge repositories.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain AI systems under the guidance of senior research staff
Design and perform directed experiments in machine learning, knowledge representation and reasoning, and other AI areas
Run human factors experiments under the guidance of human-computer interaction experts
Document systems and experiments in reports and papers
Requirements:
MSc or PhD in computer science, or equivalent experience
Experience in building, maintaining, and documenting AI systems
Experience in designing and running machine learning experiments
Experience in reading scientific papers and replicating methods
Familiarity with modern AI software tools, languages, and practices, such as PyTorch, BERT, tf-idf, OWL, and Jena
A willingness to learn new expertise as needed for domain specific applications
