PARC’s Intelligent Systems Lab (ISL) is searching for Junior Researchers and graduate students to fill research assistant or intern positions.
The intern will work to support a large, funded AI project for aiding users when performing tasks on physical devices. Successful candidates will work closely with senior researchers to carry out research activities inone or more of story generation, user modeling, process modeling, knowledge extraction, and knowledge representation.
The ideal candidate will be able to develop theories and implement AI system components with guidance from senior researchers.
Build and maintain components of a large research system under guidance of project staff
Design and perform experiments under guidance of senior researchers
Analyze human factors experiments under guidance of human-interaction experts
Document systems and experiments in reports and papers
Current enrollment in a PhD program in computer science or related field
Experience in implementing AI theories in one or more of story generation, user modeling, process modeling, knowledge extraction, and knowledge representation
Familiarity with modern AI software tools, languages, and practices, such as PyTorch, BERT, OWL, and Jena
A willingness to learn new expertise as needed for domain specific applications
