PARC is incubating a new software venture in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) space, based on industry-leading technology developed at PARC. Building of a world-class group of scientists and engineers with decades of experience in prognostics and system health monitoring, the new venture has ambitions to redefine how industrial equipment is managed.
We are looking for an experienced Sales Engineer to join the new venture developing commercial predictive maintenance solutions. The Sales Engineer will be a technical specialist responsible for a range of sales and business development of IIoT solutions in the manufacturing industry. A key member of the sales team, you will build close relationships with our field sales team and with our ecosystem partners. Another responsibility of the Sales Engineer is supporting the inside sales function, proposal creation and managing sales funnel.
Specific responsibilities include:
Manage and interpret both new and existing customer requirements to understand, anticipate and practically meet their
Provide pre-sales technical expertise and product education to new and existing
Offer customers a solution that best satisfies their needs in terms of the technical specification, qualification, price and delivery of the IIoT
Generate, qualify and manage leads from various digital marketing
Partner with internal and external sales team to achieve revenue
Create, manage and flash sales reports to the senior management
Collaborate with PARC researchers including software and hardware engineers to communicate instrumentation constraints and to understand desired performance.
Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar
At least 5 years of professional experience including:
Experience of IIoT/PdM solutions sales.
IT/OT solutions selling to manufacturing industries e.g Chemical/Pharma/O&G
Knowledge of Industrial networking, firewall configurations, OPC server communications
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new technologies
Track record of successful sales and revenue growth.
Desired technical skills include:
Knowledge of SCADA/DCS systems (preferably more than one vendor)
Experience with Industrial IoT platforms
Experience with cloud software platforms (e.g., AWS, MS Azure)
Desired personal skills include:
Strong practical problem-solving and independent decision-making
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage several projects
