Systems Engineers understand the system from both a customer and a development perspective. A key role is acting as an interface between the customer/marketing world and the technical development world. We are the big thinkers and the glue that holds projects together from initial idea until the end of field support. A technical degree is not required.
The entry level Systems Engineer will be a key player in a small team that will deliver new features for our systems. This requires breaking down the high-level vision of customer/marketing to specific requirements for the software development team, validation of the feature to ensure it meets the requirements and the customer’s needs, provide support to the test team, assist the documentation team, and represent the new feature while it is being used in the field. The Systems Engineer is integral to all new feature development, flexing critical thinking and communication skills daily.

Successful Systems Engineers come from many different educational backgrounds: Graphic Arts, Business, Journalism, Anthropology, Engineering, Computer Science, Cognitive Science. Interests can include: Technical Writing, Technical Sales, Technical Marketing, Technical Support, Quality Assurance, Business Analysis, Solutions Architecture.
Understanding the system from both a customer and development perspective
Act as an interface between customer/marketing world and the technical development world
Discovering and validating requirements
Understanding system capabilities and those of the competition
Defining quantitative measures (e.g. performance and cost criteria)
Assess and Manage project risks
Integration of system components
Problem Solving at system and module level
Identification and resolution of critical program issues
Effective communication with peers and ability to multitask and work in a team environment with a “can-do” attitude
Ability to learn new applications and technologies quickly
Bachelor’s Degree in any field
Strong written and oral communication skills
Includes development of structures and methodologies to communicate intent of new concepts
Excellent system level problem solving
Excellent organizational skills
Should have the “big picture” perspective and be able to look deep enough into a problem without losing focus on the entire system
Passionate about improving the customer experience
Ability to prioritize and multitask are important for this position
Ability to work both independently and work well with a team
Ability to work under pressure and time constraints
