  • Responsiblefor client solution design. Role has solution ownership, ensuring thatthe overall solution designed and costed for the client (including thedifferent technical or service components) meet the client requirements and aredeliverable.

  • Thisposition plays a key role in the pursuit of new business, analysing theclient’s business requirements to craft winning and deliverable solutions thatare commercially acceptable to the customer.

  • Therole holder is responsible for end-to-end solution design of all services beingsold to the client. Has ownership and responsibility for providing accurate solutioncosts. And adhering to all solutioning governance, exceptions and approvals.

  • Worksin close collaboration with sales, bid management and service delivery,internal and external partners.

  • Therole holder will orchestrate and enable deal wins, contributing to developing opportunitywin strategies and ensure smooth service transition and successful handover tothe transition teams.

  • Aspart of the pursuit process the Solution Architect works with deal pursuit teammembers to develop a value proposition and business case for the service andhelping articulate this in a compelling manner to the client. This requiresworking within the relevant governance and processes.

The role holder is focused on:

  • Craftingwinning solutions (KPI: Service offers a winning value proposition atright price)

  • Designingdeliverable services (KPI: Service is deliverable & as standard aspossible)

  • Supportingservice transition into live service delivery (KPI: Time to revenue &service availability)

Scope Specific:

  • Leadsand is accountable for comprehensive, end-to-end service design for servicesproposals of a varying size and complexity, including multi-country and global deals.

  • Leadsservices architecture work stream through deal closure, supporting transitionhandovers and any solution related change management reviews/redesign throughto operational readiness.

  • OneSolution Architect role with three proficiency levels: Practitioner, Proficientand Mastery. Career progression within role is defined by SFIA competencies andvalidated by experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • ClientStrategy & Account Development:Bid/Sales Support: Supports the presales phase of deal pursuit. Assists withthe preparation of proposals, bids and tenders. Including contracting and SOW inputand detailed proposal writing.

  • ServiceDesign Authority: Takes responsibility for all components input to Servicedesign as well as to qualification and business approval meetings. Shapes andarchitects services proposals working with partner(s) where relevant

  • Costand Risk: Defines the approach to service design to align to the win strategy, managessolution scope and service design team inputs in order to ensure an acceptablecost structure. Able to articulate the entire service to a client or partner ona technical and business level, clearly identifying benefits and risks.

  • BusinessDevelopment: Establishes customer requirements and compliance for a service. Buildingstrong relationships with relevant stakeholders in Xerox, customer organizationand partners. Acts as a major influence in the customer choosing Xerox. Able toarticulate solution benefits and differentiation.

  • Requirementsand Design: Designs innovative services, and where required can manage the workof different specialists including partners and third parties -contributing to the design and implementation.

  • Peopleand Resource Management: Works with Xerox pursuit team to develop services andpricing.

  • Integration:Co-ordinates and engages the supporting shared services (e.g. Global DeliveryTeam) and service delivery teams - as well as partner input where relevant - todevelop seamless end to end service design for customers.

  • ServicesDelivery Operational Leadership: Due Diligence: May be responsible to lead thedue diligence phase of bid pursuit and to validate and revise the servicedesign as necessary.

Practice Development:

  • Influence:Represents the company at customer workshops and orals, attends forums,conferences, professional bodies to build the company's reputation in themarket place. Known expert in one or more service offers and industries.

  • ContinuousImprovement & Knowledge Sharing: Provides continuous feedback tostakeholders as input for improvements. Shares knowledge with colleagues tomake a useful contribution to Xerox knowledge. Updates and improves standardservice architect methodologies based on learning and customerrequirements/feedback. Promotes knowledge sharing with other stakeholders


Graduation in specialized field (Example: Bachelor of Engineering etc.) in a relevant subject.

RelevantProfessional Qualifications:

Examples: Lean Six Sigma, TOGAF, ITIL

Candidate Background:

Minimum A proven track record in complex technology based outsourced business, having worked in services architecting, service delivery management or other IT related business functions

Minimum Sound experience in designing technology based services and Services in response to clients key business drivers

Minimum Proven ability to innovate to provide services that improve clients business performance

Minimum Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills

Minimum The ability to analyze issues and to find resolution to problems by using a rational, systematic approach

Minimum Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

Minimum Demonstrates a strong team ethic with the ability to build relationships and work effectively in large and small teams.
