Xerox Manufacturing Controls Engineer in WEBSTER, New York
Responsibilities and Essential Functions :
Provide technical skills and expertise to drive Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and productivity by supporting ongoing technical operations, troubleshooting machine, robot, and PLC issues, performing root cause analysis on complex issues, and creating project plans and implementing improvements.
Ensure process and safety compliance by reviewing and modifying existing manufacturing, safe job and LOTO procedures or creating new procedures as necessary.
Enhance engineering systems by assisting with the development of detailed equipment configuration files, troubleshooting guides, organized file storage, and continuous improvement activities.
Enhance maintenance function by working with the engineering team to identify gaps in maintenance skill sets, creating and delivering training to maintenance personnel, and ensuring knowledge transfer on technical projects.
Manage process automation and productivity projects; create implementation plans then prioritize activities and closely manage project milestones of assigned projects; identify options and contingencies to keep numerous active projects on track.
BS in Engineering
5 year's progressive experience in PLC and robotic programming and commissioning.
Preference given to ladder logic programming experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and Modicon PLCs
Fanuc and Epson robot programming experience preferred.
Distributed Control System (DCS) experience preferred
Autocad experience preferred
Innovative, decisive, results oriented individual contributor with strong problem-solving skills.
Must possess the ability to work effectively with all levels of organization and cross-functional groups.
Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and OSHA requirements
Working knowledge and ability to apply Lean Six Sigma concepts and tools
Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills, ability to analyze technical issues, define/solve problems, establish project plans, statistically evaluate solutions, and draw valid conclusions.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, and Outlook
