Job Description:

This position is within Xerox’s Software Services and Technology team which is a large global software development team responsible for delivering enterprise solutions offered to our customers. Our team works with many of the latest technologies and invests in our engineers through training and strategic skills planning which keeps us up to speed with the fast rate of change in technology.

The Systems Engineer fulfills the Product Owner role within our agile development methodology and maximizes value to our internal and external customers. They work with the customers to define and prioritize features, while working with the team to ensure that the product is successfully delivered to a measurable standard throughout the lifecycle.

The Systems Engineer serves as the primary interface between the stakeholders and our development team(s) with the emphasis on representing the user community to the teams. A key team leader that works to decide on the functionality in collaboration with stakeholders, sets goals, release dates, and works within the allocated budget to meet business needs.

Responsible for the proper conversion of requirements into actual software feature designed which a development team will then architect and implement into the actual software code base. The individual must also be able to deduce new features based on expertise gained in both the software application they support and the close contact they have with the customer (i.e. our end users who are mostly Xerox people but can be actual customers) and the industry in general.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Performs Business Analyst related functions:

o Manages the project/product vision, road-map, and releases in collaboration with stakeholders.

o Defines the scope of the release through prioritization and management of a product backlog of work.

o Defines release success criteria and keeps stakeholders informed throughout product life cycle.

o Keeps documents and systems (for example: JIRA) updated with relevant information related to the project requirements and delivery status.

o Represents the voice of the customer to the development teams; provides the purpose/benefits of the features within the release to the development team(s).

o Works with the development team(s) to elaborate requirements including detailed conditions of acceptance.

o Interfaces with other stakeholders to manage dependencies within integrated projects.

o Proactively manages changes in project scope and cost, identifies potential risks, and works with management and development team(s) to create recovery plans.

o Builds, develops, and grows any business relationships vital to the success of the project.

o Collaborates with the development team(s) for the duration of the release.

· Performs a leadership role:

o Develops deep understanding & know-how of the domain for the products that they work on.

o Where appropriate, develops relevant industry relationships to further know-how and domain expertise.

o Collaborates with the Leadership Team to implement key initiatives (Maximize Quality, Surmount Delivery, Enhanced Predictability, Control Risk, Scale the Organization, Create an Innovative Organization, Unify the Organization)

o Mentors others in the domain when needed.

Qualifications:

· Candidate Education: Preferred Bachelor's Degree

· Candidate Background: At least 3 years experience in related role on software team.

Skills, Knowledge & Ability:

· Effectively communicate (verbally & written) with team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
